Why this class?

I am taking this class because it is completely different than any other course I have taken at Denison. I have never taken any classes dealing with issues in gender and sexuality and I think it is going to be extremely interesting to look at these issues through a media lens. I am also looking forward to making parallels between this class and the Business of Media class.

I think that this is an important issue to study because not only does media have a large impact on our world today, but it has become a way to socially construct meanings behind gender and sexuality. I am looking forward to looking beyond the surface into how gender and sexually are constructed in American media today
